Spotted!! Peacocks, flowers, dew drops and more….

country side, Fields, morning dew, peacocks, South India, wild flowers
We drove through Trichy to visit the various temples on our check list. The drive was one of the best drives of my life – we passed lush green fields filled with Banana Trees, Sugarcane, wild grass, pretty flowers, pretty streams and more. It was a beautiful bright day filled with blue skies ;  the temperature was pleasant and the air was pure….
I remember hubby and me spotting peacocks amidst some banana trees.. what a sight to the eyes of a traveler!! We stopped at plenty of spots on the way to the “Appakudathaan Temple” and here are my favorite pics from that memorable drive…Oh!! To do it all over again!
Gorgeous Peacock in the midst of banana trees
Then he got shy and decided to walk away……..
You can’t get me!
Little did I know, that  this was just the start of surprises nature had in store for us that day…. Check out these fields
Oh! How I just wanna picnic out there 🙂
Even the wild weeds looked pretty…..

Fresh morning dew on lush green leaves…..
Pretty wild flowers that made me smile…

Sculptures of the Srimushnum Temple

These beautiful dancing sculptures adorn the temple walls of the “SrimushnumTemple” en route to Trichy…… I would love to do a series of paintings on this subject…sigh!!

The sculpture of this pretty girl adorns the walls at the entrance to the temple

The pictures were taken during our trip to visit the temples of Trichy during the month of January (2012)

Blackie

black cat, Cat, Cats, Fauna

The latest visitor to our home…He reminds me of my “Lucky” but I am partial to my Luckoo and think he is the best looking cat amongst all black cats 🙂 I miss the dear boy! Anyhow this guy kept coming around the house for the past few days to get us to know him and 2 days ago he called out to us and wouldn’t leave until we went out and conversed to him! Them we fed him some biscuits and he devoured them….. the poor darling must have been ravenous..He hasn’t been around after that. But he is a familiar and I hope to spot him soon. I have named him Blackie, karupi, karupiah for now 🙂 He looks like a black panther no??
